An alert was issued by the Metropolitan Police Department this week as they attempt to track down a suspect and vehicle wanted in connection to a carjacking, robbery, and kidnapping in Northwest DC earlier this month.

Like a scene out of a movie, shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, the suspect swerved his car in front of his victim, who was still parked in his own vehicle in the 400 block of K Street NW.

He then got out, and when his victim rolled down a window, the wanted man allegedly snatched a cell phone and assaulted him, police say. He then made the victim get into the passenger's seat while they drove to an ATM to withdraw cash.

The suspect then drove off to an unknown location and dropped the man off, driving away in his vehicle.

According to police, the suspect and the victim’s vehicle, a 2023 white Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, with Maryland tags 3FJ4177 and a damaged driver side rearview mirror, were captured by surveillance cameras (see above).

The incident remains under investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or stolen vehicle has been asked to contact detectives at the department by calling (202) 727-9099 or texting a tip to 50411.
